ADA, Okla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–LegalShield, one of North America’s leading providers of affordable legal plans and the IDShield identity theft solution for individuals, families and small businesses, is proud to reaffirm its support of Law Day, a national day to celebrate the rule of law, essential to maintaining a civil society, functioning institutions and increasing opportunity. Several of the law firms in LegalShield’s network, which covers all 50 states and four provinces in Canada, will participate through charitable events.
On #lawday, we celebrate the 14th amendment’s Equal Protection clause, which is at the core of our philosophy.
“This year, Law Day is particularly meaningful to LegalShield—because the American Bar Association has dedicated it to the 14th amendment, whose Equal Protection clause is at the core of our philosophy,” explained Jeff Bell, LegalShield’s CEO. “All of us face increasingly significant exposure to legal issues, yet 80 percent of low-income Americans are unable to receive the legal help they need due to cost barriers. With our subscription-based, low-cost legal plans, we protect and empower people. We help citizens live free under the law—and to have equal access to Justice.”
Among the law firms in LegalShield’s provider network participating in Law Day, the following will host charitable events:
Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison & Lewis: The Colorado office will host a Law Night to support Warren Village, a non-profit offering transitional housing and community support for single parents in Denver. Six of the firm’s attorneys will consult with Warren Village residents who seek counsel for a number of legal issues.
DSK Law: The firm will host a firm-wide “jean’s day” to raise donations for the Legal Aid Society of The Orange County Bar Association, Inc. In addition, the firm’s LegalShield Division will volunteer at the local Second Harvest food bank.
Shimanovsky & Moscardini: This Chicago firm will host a Blankets for Babes Drive, a donation drive for new and gently used blankets, backpacks and suitcases for children in foster care. The firm will also raise donations for Pinwheels for Prevention by purchasing pinwheels from the local Bar Association for its Pinwheel Garden. All proceeds from pinwheel purchases will benefit Prevent Child Abuse Illinois.
