Leading direct selling company PartyLite, specializing in scented candles and candle accessories, has expanded into Spain with an exclusive distributor. The move marks the 19th European country where the direct seller is actively doing business.
PartyLite launched its collaboration with the Spanish exclusive distributor Marcel Cluny (MCY Cosmetics SLL Technology and Distribution) with a product training session in Bilbao in November 2015.
Luca Pozzuoli, CEO of Emerging Markets as well as vice president of market development at PartyLite group, says he is looking forward to working together with the Spanish distributor: “With Marcel Cluny, we found the ideal sales channel in Spain for our premium scented candles. PartyLite Candles complement the range of cosmetics offered by Marcel Cluny perfectly, and through its dense network of highly trained professionals and consultants in Spain this partnership is extremely promising.”
Demand for PartyLite’s bestsellers in Europe – scented candles and fruit GloLites – are showing signs of being strong in Spain as well.
Gonzalo Conde, CEO of Marcel Cluny is also convinced that the cooperation will be successful. “Both Marcel Cluny and PartyLite will benefit from a successful partnership. Marcel Cluny plans to market a new product line to complement the wellness experience in home décor offered by PartyLite.”
Founded by the father of Gonzalo Conde in 1972, Marcel Cluny now has about 3,500 independent consultants in Spain. The direct sales company that specializes in cosmetics, is headquartered in Bilbao, in the northern region of the country. Marcel Cluny is also a member of the Spanish Direct Selling Association (AVD). The party planning company is expected to increase its sales by 20% in 2015 as compared to 2014.
Spain is a market with great potential according to Seldia and AVD. In 2014, revenues from direct sales increased 7.8% to reach 634 million euros compared to 588 million euros in 2013. The industry employs approximately 164,000 men and women.
“A stable growth and the growing popularity of products sold through direct sales, especially in cosmetics and home-decor make Spain an exciting opportunity,” said Martin Köhler, CEO of PartyLite Europe.
