Amway opens $2.5M business center on West Coast

Amway has opened a new $2.5-million business center on the West Coast to serve its independent business owners.

The Amway North America California Business Center in Buena Park is a two-story, 7,900-square-foot facility aimed at helping Amway IBOs grow their businesses.

Ada-based Amway renovated existing space within its Amway Center for Nutrilite Experience for the new business center.

The center is a space for IBOs to meet with current and prospective IBOs and customers, conduct group meetings, showcase the Amway business and participate in trainings to develop business skills.

The center features various elements: flexible meeting spaces; training and demonstration areas; product and sampling zones; an Amway historical gallery; and in-store purchasing options for IBOs, which include Amway’s products from its leading nutrition, beauty and home brands.

Technology includes audio-visual systems with touchscreen and interactive media elements, videos and learning and teaching tools.

The Amway California Business Center is the second Amway North American-operated space dedicated to IBO business development in the U.S. The first was the Amway Business Center at Citi Field in New York, which opened in 2015, after a pilot in 2013.

Amway said the California business center is the result of requests from IBOs following the success of the New York center.

“Amway has had many requests from IBOs for increased physical presence in the United States,” said Jim Ayers, managing director, Amway North America.

Ayers said other Amway markets around the globe have numerous physical locations.

“Physical presence increases credibility for the business opportunity and equips IBOs with the tools and messaging to sell and sponsor,” Ayers said.

“We expect the CABC to be highly utilized within the first year, especially based on the success of its east coast counterpart,” he said. “The NYBC, for instance, attracted more than 15,000 IBOs and visitors and trained more than 3,600 IBOs on critical business and product presentation skills within two years of opening.”

He said Amway will consider additional business centers, but for now, there are no plans for a third location.

The public is also welcome to visit the business center to try products, learn about the Amway business and speak with Amway IBOs.
