Mary Kay Awards another $20,000 Grant to Paducah domestic violence shelter

PADUCAH, KY -Merryman House Domestic Crisis Center announced on Nov. 8th that it was one of 150 to receive a $20,000 grant from the Mary Kay Foundation for domestic violence programs.

The Merryman House was awarded at $20,000 grant, as were 149 other domestic violence shelters across the country, for a total of $3 million. Merryman House says it will use the grant funding for furnishings and supplies for a new shelter facility.

“At Merryman House, we are incredibly grateful for support from The Mary Kay Foundation and its commitment to break the cycle of domestic violence,” Executive Director Mary Foley said in Friday’s announcement. “These dollars are critical to helping us meet the needs of our survivors and provide us with a way to ensure their environment is therapeutic, comfortable and conducive to their healing.”

Merryman House provides services that include a 24-hour crisis line; 24-hour emergency shelter for those fleeing abuse; assistance with accessing Emergency Protective Orders; lethality assessments; crisis intervention/relocation; credit repair programs; savings programs and financial literacy classes; housing stabilization; mental-health support; youth services; on-going case-management, and other services.
