In just five years of operation, The Primerica Foundation has become one of Georgia’s Top 25 Corporate Foundations, according to an annual ranking by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Corporate giants such as Coca-Cola, UPS and Aflac top the list, which recognizes Georgia’s leading company-sponsored foundations based on total giving. Since its founding in 2011, The Primerica Foundation has provided more than $4 million in funding to programs across Georgia and the Metro Atlanta area, where the company is based.
As the charitable arm of financial services provider Primerica, the foundation focuses on initiatives that help move families into self-sufficiency, according to foundation Chairman Karen Fine Saltiel. “We also fund programs and organizations that enhance our communities and the quality of life for all residents, because we believe in a holistic approach to achieving self-sufficiency.”
In an example of Primerica’s community outreach, the foundation recently partnered with Junior Achievement of Georgia, an organization that works with local business and community volunteers to provide real-world training to students. Primerica is participating in the newly opened JA Discovery Center at Gwinnett, an interactive learning facility that allows students to be an “adult for a day.” The center’s Primerica storefront will teach basic financial principles to the 25,000 middle school students expected to visit the site each year.
