doTERRA Donates to Mascot Miracles Foundation’s Masquerade Ball

PLEASANT GROVE, Utah, Oct. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — The Mascot Miracles Foundation, a non-profit organization in the Salt Lake City area, will hold a Masquerade Ball this October to raise funds that will help them bring comfort to children with severe and terminal illnesses. The foundation organizes and attends events for ill children, bringing smiles to their faces with special visits from professional, college, and corporate mascots.

Mascot Miracles is currently looking for product donations to be auctioned off at the Masquerade Ball gala on October 24th. doTERRA Wellness Advocate, LuAnn Rhea, approached the corporate sponsorship professionals at doTERRA International about donating products for the gala’s silent auction. Not only is LuAnn a doTERRA distributor, but her family received help from the Mascot Miracles Foundation during a time of crisis. Because of doTERRA’s previous involvement with community projects, LuAnn wanted to bring both of these organizations together for a worthy cause. Happy to join forces with Mascot Miracles, doTERRA has provided a gift basket of products to be used as a silent auction prize at the gala.

The Mascot Miracles Foundation works to serve children suffering from severe illnesses by brightening their day with a visit from a mascot they will recognize. LuAnn says that for many children, Mascot Miracles provides an experience that actually allows them to feel like kids—a rare opportunity for children in this situation.

Many of the children involved in the foundation’s events suffer from serious and terminal diseases like cancer, tumors, and a variety of rare conditions. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in children (after accidents), which means that countless parents and families throughout the world are currently fighting this battle with their child. A cancer diagnosis is not easy on parents or children, which is why the people at Mascot Miracles feel motivated to provide a setting where families can make happy memories amidst cancer treatments and doctor appointments.

Because the foundation is supported by sponsors and donors, the funds raised at the Masquerade ball will allow Mascot Miracles to continue to offer their services to deserving children. They plan to use the funds from the gala to support state-wide events, parties, and even one-on-one visits for children in the future.
